What is in a name? Many things. Your name is your brand and having a trustworthy name is key to any business. If you sell poor quality cattle and small stock, you will not make any profit in the long run and buyers will spread the word that you are not to be trusted. These are the words of Rudi Slabbert, Farm Manager of Karsten Boergoats in Kanoneiland in our program of 31 March. He tells us more about the management of the animals and how the best animals are selected before an auction.
Dries Wiese from the Dries Wiese Business Trust, has some information on the Blinkhaar Ronderib Afrikanersheep. This sheep breed has an interesting history. Dries is passionate about these animals and says that they survive under difficult circumstances and extended drought conditions.
Mandla Seopela, Owner and Director of J Africa Meatmasters, is a newcomer to the small stock business. He shares his views on mentorship and how the farming community supported and helped him.
Dr Johnny van der Merwe, Director of AMT has the latest news on grain and livestock sale.
