The ARC annual National Master Dairyman Awards was recently presented as a virtual event by Agri-Expo. The ARC National Master Dairyman of the year 2021 is JK Basson of JK Basson Trust near Darling in the Western Cape. In our program of 23 November, JK tells us about his farming business, the cowhouses and how he implements biosecurity on his dairy farm. Nompe Zim of Zim Dairy near Harrismith received the award for the ARC National Small Scale Dairy farmer of the year. Congratulations to all the winners.


Breyton Milford Operational Manager at Agri-Expo talks about their involvement with the ARC and the National Master Dairy awards. Breyton also shares information on the Cape of Good Hope Agricultural Society that was established in 1831 and registered as Agri-Expo in 1996 as the marketing brand.


Steyn Pretorius, Technical Manager Ruminants at Kemin talks about Heat stress and the impact that good and healthy feed has on dairy cows. Frans Jordaan, Researcher at the ARC Animal production at Irene has information on the impact that the environment has on weaners and the cow-calf production system.
