In our program of 26 July, Michiel du Toit, Cellarmaster of Landskroon Winery tells us about the history of Landskroon Winery, the wines that are produces and the what the process of pruning involves. In the 9th annual Shiraz Challenge, Landskroon Paul de Villiers Shiraz 2019 was one of the winners in the Top 12.
Dewald Heyns, Winemaker of Saronsberg, has some information on how Shiraz is produced. At Saronsberg the grapes are handpicked. They were under the Top 12 winners in the Shiraz Challenge. It is said that Shiraz is an important variety in SA, occupying ten persent of the national vineyard at the end of 2019.
