According to the Dorper Breeders Association, the breed is numerically the second largest sheep breed in South Africa. Although the Dorper is declared indigenous to SA, the breed is found all over the world because of its outstanding qualities.  In our program of 9 March Charl Saunderson of the Nooitgedacht Dorper Stud talks about the 4 pillars of his farming enterprise.  They are fertility, maternal instincts, meat production and conformation.

André Nieuwenhuis, Counsel member of the Dorper Breeders Association of SA gives feedback on their National Auction held recently. The animals presented were of an outstanding quality and the highest price for a Dorper ram fetched R70 000.

Hardus Korb of the Hardus Korb Dorper Stud in the Northern Cape talks about selection and the special features of the breed such as excellent meat quality, great weight gain, high fertility and outstanding carcass qualities
